SYNCHRONISED - Sadler's Wells ex Mayasta won a thrilling finish in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Qualifier)
(Class 2) at Haydock on Saturday past to earn a shot at the Pertemps Hurdle at Cheltenham. Given that the second place horse has an officially rating of 152, one has to say this was a very impressive performance.

WENDEL made all to win the Ascot Badgeholders Novicesī Hurdle(Class 3) (5yo+) (2m3f110y) at Ascot on Saturday past. Bouncing of in front Wendel made all to win by 11 lengths and make it 4 wins in 5 races. He clearly is a good horse and needed the run after a weather delayed lay off.
"The Supreme Novices' would be too short for him and we'll aim him at the Ballymore, but he won't go to Cheltenham at all unless there's cut in the ground. He's a good horse, and he'll come on a lot for that as he'd had a break since he ran here last time". - Charlie Mann, trainer |

WHITE ON BLACK, the 8yr old gelding by Lomitas out off White on Red won the Connaught Partnerships Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (4YO plus) at rainy Wincanton today. What was a competive handicap, White on Black travelled strongly throughout and hit the front two furlongs out. He found plenty to assert and won by 2 lengths from Sangfroid. Given this race had horses rated as high as 125,whilst White on Black is rated 107, this was quite a performance. "Formerly with Milton Harris, he had been runner-up in a couple of sellers when last seen back in the spring and this looked an improved effort." RacingPost
White on Black is a half brother to Hill Glen Stud's 3yr old Orpen filly out off White on Red, currently in training with John Oxx. |

PEDIGREE UPDATE - WENDEL 3RD IN GRADE 2 HURDLE AT ASCOT- Friday 19 December, 2008

WENDEL, the Charlie Mann trained 4yr old gelding made his transition to Graded Hurdle company look easy at Ascot today when he finished 3rd in the high quality Mitie Kennel Gate Novices Hurdle, Grade 2 (Class 1) field. Finishing 3 lengths behind the winner, it could have been so much closer if he had not clipped the final hurdle and was over taken by Medermit, trained by Alan King and Dee De Williams, trained by Nick Gifford. Both the winner and runner up are been aimed at the Tolworth Hurdle next month on the way to the Supreme Novices Hurdle in March at Cheltenham.
WENDEL stepped up to this company in the shape of a horse who found this grade right up his street. "He showed he will be worth his place in the top novice events later in the season". RacingPost |

| HEARTY DOVE, the Alan Price trained six year old mare by Overbury wins the Bathwick Tyres Taunton "National Hunt" Novicesī Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) at Wincanton on Thursday past. Whilst the race could be considered a weak novice handicap in which only six managed to complete behind the ready winner, this was still a likeable pereformance. A runner-up off 3lb lower last time, she appreciated being ridden positively over this longer trip. |

| WENDEL, the Charlie Mann trained 4yr old gelding made it two wins from two starts over hurdles with a easy win in the Totequadpot Novices' Hurdle (Class 3) at Plumpton on Sunday past. The grey gelding by Definite Article cruised to victory with an eased down 8 length winning margin at the finish. This was his second victory in two starts over hurdles, having won the Monk Marketing Unity Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) at Plumpton two weeks earlier. Held in high regard by his trainer, the nature of his victories and the winning margins to date suggest he is a horse destined for graded novices hurdles and where he appears next will be interesting. |

| Rendevouz, the full brother to Gagnoa by Saddlers Wells's beat stable mate Martial Law by a head in the 1 mile Prix du Val Profond at Chantilly. At the finish both were clear of the remaining field off 11 by 10 lengths, suggesting that 1st and 2nd could be very talented 2 year olds with a bright future. Rendevouz is trained by Andre Fabre on behalf of Coolmore and both he and Martial Law hold entries in the Group 1 Epsom Derby for 2009. |
